Stop plan for Dulwich Hill Controlled Parking Zone

We the undersigned petition the council to abandon plans to introduce a controlled parking zone in Dulwich Hill.

There is currently no problem with parking and all this would do is charge local residents and their visitors to park on their own streets. The suggested fee is up to £225 per year.

The informal consultation by Dulwich Hill Streets for People asks for feedback on WHEN the parking restriction should be in place. However, it does not give the option to say WHETHER OR NOT local residents are in favour of introducing the parking restriction. Local residents are also not reliably informed of the informal consultation (for example by sending a letter to all addresses in the ward). This leaves many people who would oppose the introduction of the parking restriction without the opportunity to do so. The consultation process is therefore undemocratic and should not proceed on this basis.
