No paid parking in the Queens Road, Nunhead and Dulwich Hill Areas

We the undersigned petition the council to abandon its plan to introduce controlled parking in the Queens Road, Nunhead and Dulwich Hill Areas on the basis that the research and consultation underpinning the borough-wide CPZ are flawed.

The council proposes to introduce "controlled" (i.e. paid) parking in the Queens Road, Nunhead and Dulwich Hill areas. Only 6 years ago a similar proposal was voted down by the local residents, but the council just ignored this. There is no parking pressure in these areas and so there is no reason to introduce paid parking. The questionnaire for the public consultation does not include the crucial question whether you want paid parking or not. It seems therefore that the council just wants to push ahead with paid parking, against the wishes of the local residents.
