We the undersigned petition the council to This is a formal petition regarding a bike hanger recently installed in the estate. My understanding is that this will be a bike locker and not a hanger.
Southwark by tradition as seen in other estates have always put bike lockers inside the estate and bike hangers on the street. By putting a bike hanger here as opposed to a bike locker, Southwark has destroyed the beauty of both the wall and the estate.
In fact, this is not aesthetically nice at all and have destroyed the beauty and look of both the wall and the estate.
How could someone have done this? And even put the price up at £40 per annum despite being within an estate which is meant to be £30? This is not about money. We’re asking that you treat us with respect and human dignity and consider aesthetic utmost in things like these. This is not asking for too much. It’s simply asking that you treat us for once with respect and dignity we deserve as rent-paying tenants.
As my councillors, I am asking that you urgently and kindly do
something about it by reversing it to status quo ante or at least a
bike locker.
