The council’s role with maintained , academy and free schools - exploring what our governance and influencing levers are in a changing context,  and how the council can  promote good performance, and tackle poor performance.

10.1  MerrilHaeusler, Deputy Director of Children's Services – Education,  commented that she understood that the committee are looking forward to a report for the following meeting. The chair confirmed that this was the case and commented that the committee intend  to consider the governance arrangements now that that there is a shift towards academies and free schools. The Deputy Director commented that her service believe that schools will still need support.
