Briefing note

There was a lengthy discussion on the proposed merger of Rotherhithe with Bermondsey community council. The large majority of those in attendance were against a merger. Residents were advised to write to the Leader of the Council, Councillor Peter John if they wanted the plans reversed.

There were various suggestions put forward including setting up a parish council in the area and reviewing the mergers on an annual basis.
