Minutes:
Tim Cutts from planning policy team explained that the council were consulting on the Elephant and Castle SPD (supplementary planning document) which closed on the 7 February 2012. The Elephant & Castle SPD would be used to make decisions on areas such as the Rockingham, Walworth Road, as well as the Elephant and Castle shopping centre and the Heygate Estate.
People were urged to look at the website and provide feedback and views so that the final Elephant and Castle SPD meets the needs and aspirations for the growth of the Opportunity Area.
A document would be available in March 2012 that shall provide a summary of the main issues raised and council officers' preliminary response. The SPD would be taken to the Cabinet meeting for adoption on 20 March 2012.
