Kate Johnson from the planning policy was available at the break to talk about the consultation on Affordable Housing with residents and local councillors.
Summary:
Affordable housing meets the needs of households whose incomes were not enough to allow them to buy or rent decent and appropriate housing in their borough. It also provides guidance on social rented housing and intermediate housing.
Planning Policies for student housing and affordable housing should be integrated with market housing. It should also meet the council’s requirements in the residential design standards SPD and must meet or exceed the minimum dwelling sizes.
