  • Council Assembly 6 April 2011 – The future for Southwark- developing our plan for the Borough

 

Minutes:

Paul Jeffrey from the Census 2011 Team informed the meeting that the census forms would be delivered soon. They had to be filled in and sent back by 27 March 2011, but the questionnaire could also be filled in online. He invited residents who had questions to see his team at their stall.

 

Forid Ahmed, Neighbourhood Coordinator, informed the meeting that the first themed debate at Council Assembly would take place on 6 April 2011 and would have the following theme: “The future for Southwark - developing our plan for the Borough”. Local people were welcome to attend, and encouraged tokeep an eye on the website where they will be able to post their views, submit a question, or raise a deputation at the April meeting: www.southwark.gov.uk/democracy. He also encouraged people to attend the Council Assembly meeting on 6 April 2011 from 7.00pm at the Town Hall to hear the debate.

 

Colin Hartridge-Price informed the meeting that the next Riverside Ward Safer Neighbourhoods meeting was at 7.00pm (to 8.30pm) on 17 March at The Biscuit Factory, Tower Bridge Business Complex, 100 Clements Road, SE16 4DG.  The neighbourhood meetings were an opportunity to hear presentations from the Metropolitan Police on their activities in the Riverside Ward, and to contribute to agreeing the ongoing priorities for police action.  All were welcome. The Four Squares Estate Fun Day will take place on Saturday 16 April 2011 from 11.30am at the Marden Hall, Four Squares Estates.
