To approve the award of extended dementia grants to the Alzheimer’s Society for post-diagnostic support for people living with dementia and their families

1.  That the first six months payment of a grant to the Alzheimer’s Society for the sum of £81,172 to provide a range of support services and to drive the development of a dementia friendly community in Southwark be agreed.  This grant to be paid from 1 October 2016 until 31 March 2017.

2.  That a further grant payment of up to £162,344 to the Alzheimer’s Society to fund these services for up to another year from April 2017 to March 2018 be agreed.  This further funding being dependent upon financial resources being available through the Better Care Fund and in the strategic commissioning decisions made by the council and the Clinical Commissioning Group in relation to the adoption of a new dementia pathway.
