Decision details

To agree the contract award

1.  That the procurement strategy for the interim procurement of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) taxis, Children’s and Adults’ Services contracts namely to undertake single supplier negotiations with each of the two incumbent service providers be approved. 

2.  a) That the award of a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) taxi service contract to Ruskin Private Hire Limited, by way of variation to the existing contract at an estimated total contract value of £260k (for a period of 16 months, in respect of transport for children during term time only from 1 September 2013 to 31 December 2014) be approved.

b) That the award of a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) taxi service contract to Healthcare and Transport Services (HATS) Limited, by way of variation to the existing contract at an estimated total contract value £650k (for a period of 16 months, in respect of transport for children during term time only from 1 September 2013 to 31 December 2014) be approved.

c) That an additional estimated contract value up to £411k in respect of transportation of vulnerable adults by way of variation across these contracts be approved.  As detailed in paragraph 33 of the open version of this report,journeys will be confirmed from September onwards.
