To approve the proposal to set up and operate a social lettings agency

RESOLVED:

Decisions of the Cabinet

1.  That the operation of a social lettings agency scheme set out in paragraphs 50 – 61 of the report be approved.

2.  That officers be authorised to acquire on lease properties for use in a Social Lettings Agency scheme and report back to cabinet with a review of the scheme’s progress after a 12 month period.

Decision of the Leader of the Council

3.  That the deputy leader and cabinet member for housing management be authorised to review the scheme’s progress after the acquisition of the first 25, 50 and 75 properties and use his delegated authority to extend the scheme to 100 if appropriate.
