Lighting issue at 65-73 Brunswick Quay

We the undersigned petition the council to see if they can install streetlights in our local area. At present we do not have any type of streetlight and residents do not know the reason why because it is a public space area. Residents feel that it is dangerous and therefore would consider it urgent. The reason being people use the space area late at night to smoke cannabis, urinate, or drink alcohol. Also there are waste bins nearby, which could be dangerous due to the continuous problems with anti-social behaviour. We believe a fire outbreak could occur at anytime and that could affect many of the residents. The neighbours ask themselves why do we pay taxes, when we have a problem like this in our area. We think the council should be able to install streetlights. If you have doubts about this, please could the council visit the area, maybe in the evening to see what goes on and we hope the council are able to help us with this problem. The solution is simple and cheap and would keep residents safe.
