1.  That the award of the Southwark Regeneration in Partnership Programme (SRPP) Lot B, The Copeland Car Park Site, to Purelake New Homes Limited, to deliver 67 new homes including 24 council homes and 18 intermediate, for a contract value of £16,654,772 (excluding fees) with a 5% contingency for £832,740 for approximately an 86 week period commencing in May 2019, be approved.

 

2. That it be noted that the contract will be funded from the housing investment programme subject to approval by the cabinet member for social regeneration, great estates and new council homes.

To allocate £15,000 of grant funding from The High Street Challenge for Round 7 of this funding. The project recommended for award is set out in Appendix 1 of the report.

Decision:

1.  That a continuation of the current grant arrangements for a period of one year from 1 April 2019 to 31 March 2020 be agreed, and that a further two months’ extension from 1 April 2020 to 31 May 2020 also be agreed in principle, should this be required, to the provider organisations delivering a range of information, advice and preventative services to residents across the borough and who are in scope of the development work of the Community Hubs. The need for an extension will be dependent upon the length of the negotiation phase of the procurement process, which will shortly be initiated.

 

2.  That it be noted that the total sum of this extension inclusive of the two months’ extension be £742,758 for Older Peoples Services and £257,417 for Disability Services.

 

3.  That it be noted that the continuation of the current arrangements will ensure alignment with the planned commencement date for the Older Peoples Hub and All Age Disability Hub.

 

4.  That the cessation of grant funding for the Life Long Family Links Service from 1 July 2019 be agreed, subject to a well managed transition process of three months.

 

5.  That it be noted that this proposal is recommended by the Better Care Fund Planning Group made up of officers of the council and the Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) following a review of the Better Care Fund (BCF) programme to continue funding in this area for 2019-20.

To agree an extension to one year grant to the Alzheimer’s Society in order to continue to provide post-diagnostic support to people living with dementia and the continuation of development of a Dementia Action Alliance (as part of the wider Council commitment to an Age Friendly Borough).

1.  That an extension to one year grant to the Alzheimer’s Society for the sum of £164,000, in order  to continue to provide post-diagnostic support to people living with dementia and the continued development of a Dementia Action Alliance (as part of the wider Council commitment to an Age Friendly Borough) be agreed.

 

2.  The it be noted that this proposed decision is recommended by the Better Care Fund Planning Group made up of officers of the council and the Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) following a review of the Better Care Fund programme to continue funding in this area for 2019-20.

 

3.  The it also be noted that this grant extension offers the council and the CCG the opportunity to adopt a whole system approach by integrating service offer into the Southwark Joint Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2018 (Priority 5 – Older People and Dementia).
