Pet Animals Act 1951 - new standard conditions for pet shop licences

To agree to adopt the new standard conditions for pet shop licences.

The health, safety, licensing and environmental protection unit manager presented the report.  Members had questions for the officer.

 

The health, safety, licensing and environmental protection unit manager undertook to look into ways to encourage dog owners in Southwark to have their dogs microchipped and to report the findings back to a future committee meeting.

 

RESOLVED:

 

1.  That the ‘Model Conditions for Pet Vending Licensing 2013’ published by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health be adopted to form this authority’s standard conditions attached to pet shop licences issued under the Pet Animals Act 1951, with effect from 1 April 2014.
