Decision details

Pilot cycling quietway proposals

Decision Maker: Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Planning and Transport

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: Yes

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Purpose:

Approve Cycling Pilot Quietway proposals for implementation subject to statutory processes

Decision:

1.  That the implementation of the Quietway Cycling Route proposals for sites A to M be approved subject to statutory procedures and in accordance with the detailed recommendations highlighted in paragraph 1 of the report.

2.  That it be noted that parts of the works require a traffic management order and that if any objections to the related statutory consultation cannot be informally resolved, then consideration of those objections and a decision on whether to proceed with that part of the scheme will be subject to a further Individual Decision Making (IDM) report.

3.  That it be noted that the works to the junction between Rothsay Street, Tower Bridge and Webb Street will not be implemented as per consultation at the present.  Works at this junction (which is within the remit of Transport for London) are subject to further review and will be implemented by Transport for London.

4.  That officers provide the cabinet member for regeneration, planning and transport with a post implementation report, to detail non-compliance with the traffic management order to better understand any need for additional enforcement at the junction of Trinity Street and the surrounding area.
